Challenge Three: The Old Heather Problem!

Old heather plants are big, woody and straggly, and they get in the way of younger plants which will not grow. All this dry dead wood can catch fire very easily and heath fires are dangerous, killing wildlife and damaging the soil. So the commoners and rangers have to find ways of getting rid of old heather, without doing permanent damage to the special Quantock heather mixture.
