Sea Anemones
Sea Anemones
Sea anemones are usually found in salt water pools on the lower and middle shore. They look like green or red blobs of jelly. They eat by sifting tiny creatures out of the water when the tide comes in. Sometimes sea anemones eat bigger animals like sandhoppers or shrimps. They sting them with their tentacles, which paralyses them. If you gently splash a sea anemone, it thinks the tide is coming in and opens up its tentacles widely!
